Brexit affects up to €2.0 trillion AuM with European origination – future EU market access strategy as key challenge

Assets under management (AuM) in the UK were worth €9.4 trillion in 2015, which makes up 41% of the EU total of approximately €23.1 trillion. Worldwide assets under managements sum up to more than €69 trillion.[1]

Around 60% (€5.7tn) of the total UK AuM are managed on behalf of domestic investors and 40% (€3.7tn) on behalf of oversea clients, of which €2.0 trillion AuM stem from European clients outside the UK. These assets face a Brexit impact.
